Data Analyst
The Senior Health Data Analyst provides analytical support for executives and all departments, including analysis, pricing, capitation, network, and provider‑specific reporting. Responsibilities include programming customer‑based specifications, producing appropriate statistics, reports, and presentations, analyzing results and impacts, and generating written reports with recommendations and conclusions. The role involves working with company and external databases, data cleaning, descriptive statistical analysis, data modeling, maintaining data documentation, and benchmarking results against industry standards.
Additionally, the analyst manages high‑complexity projects that require team effort from multiple analysts and cross‑departmental collaboration. Quality review and mentoring—code and logic review, benchmarking, and guidance on reporting processes—are also part of the job.
- Manage projects, including creating and leading a team of analysts, interacting with other departments and outside parties.
- Concurrently conduct multiple major analytical projects without immediate supervision, covering all aspects from programming to analysis and reporting.
- Review and ensure quality assurance of projects assigned to other analysts.
- Develop reports and ad‑hoc analysis based on specifications from department management; automate tasks and ensure timely delivery.
- Create presentations, including conclusions and recommendations, and present findings to key stakeholders.
- Serve as a resource and mentor to other analysts and assist in training and development as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to see major analysis projects through to completion without immediate supervision.
- Independent project management skills, including team leadership and stakeholder interaction.
- Strong application of advanced actuarial, mathematical, and statistical techniques to financial and health‑related data.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, consistently professional in tone.
- Proven ability to perform descriptive analytics.
- Knowledge of programming and ability to adapt or create new code as required.
- Familiarity with healthcare data.
- Fluent English speaking and writing skills.
- Successfully passed a Health Care Sanctions background check.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science, or another quantitative discipline preferred. Master’s degree a plus. - Demonstrated use of analytical software; SAS or SQL preferred.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar data‑visualization tools preferred.
- Five or more years of health data or data analysis experience.
- Project management experience preferred.
