Data Quality & Business Analyst; IT Business Systems Analyst

Job Overview

The Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) is seeking a Data Quality & Business Analyst (IT Business Systems Analyst) to ensure our systems are accurate, efficient, and reliable. This role involves analyzing business processes, evaluating software solutions, coordinating cross‑functional projects, and validating program logic.

Pay Grade 10: $37.346 per hour

• Provide technical assistance related to automated testing applications and methodologies.
• Assist with development and delivery of training opportunities for utilizing automated testing.
• Collaborate to determine business needs and requirements, agree on system principles, and analyze and document business processes.
• Coordinate project planning and cross‑functional initiatives within other offices at the NDE.
• Research, evaluate, and recommend software application solutions to meet business needs.
• Serve as primary contact for application developers to answer workflow and application design questions.
• Document business system operations and modifications, participate in system analysis and design, develop specifications, and perform testing (e.g., create and maintain manual/automated test scripts and suites, execute test cases, analyze outcomes, conduct automated regression tests).
• Ensure business processes and operations comply with industry standards for accuracy, efficiency, and reliability.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance, possess a valid driver’s license, travel independently, and work in a variety of settings.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of experience related to the essential functions of the position.
• Equivalent education and/or work experience may be substituted to meet the minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification related to Lean Six Sigma or ITIL Service Management.
• Experience with automated testing systems (e.g., Selenium, Playwright).
• Understanding of educational entities and K-12 education environments.
