The Systems Administrator is a senior technical role responsible for leading the administration, security, governance, and ongoing improvement of the Microsoft 365 environment. This position provides advanced support, guides platform strategy, mentors team members, and partners with business and leadership teams to deliver reliable, scalable technology solutions.
What are the responsibilities?As a Systems Administrator, you will:
- Oversee the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, One Drive, Copilot, and Entra .
- Develop collaboration-platform strategies by reviewing upcoming Microsoft capabilities, assessing risk and business value, and coordinating deployment readiness.
- Provide Tier 3 support, investigate complex incidents, lead post-incident reviews, and document improvements that strengthen platform performance.
- Administer enterprise identity and access controls, including single sign-on, multifactor authentication, Conditional Access, privileged access, and identity governance.
- Enhance security and regulatory compliance through Microsoft Purview, data loss prevention, retention policies, eDiscovery, data classification, and insider-risk controls.
- Translate business and technical needs into integrated Microsoft 365 solutions using effective project management and cross-functional coordination.
- Present technical recommendations to different levels of management and maintain productive relationships with vendors.
- Coach analysts and provide technical direction across the broader IT team.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and respond proactively to urgent support needs.
- High school diploma (bachelor's degree in an IT-related field preferred)
- 8-15+ years of relevant IT experience
- Extensive Microsoft 365 expertise, particularly with Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, One Drive, Copilot, and Entra
- Advanced knowledge of identity management, platform governance, security, compliance, and enterprise collaboration technologies
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve sophisticated technical issues and identify root causes
- Confidence presenting technical information and recommendations to management audiences
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, collaboration, and vendor-management abilities
- Availability and willingness to provide after-hours support during critical incidents
- A well-rounded, safety-focused approach to technical leadership and service delivery
- You remain focused and dependable during critical situations, completing important work efficiently and successfully.
