Mid-Continent Group is accepting resumes for IT Internship candidates starting employment in May through the summer of 2027 with a hybrid work schedule in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Internship includes a combination of activities aimed at giving the intern a full understanding of the IT department and how it interacts with other functions within the organization. The program is a potential pathway to a career in insurance and/or technology.

Internships typically consist of a 10-week period over the summer.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a driven and collaborative IT Intern to join our Information Technology team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a variety of technical and user support functions, including data management and reporting, application development, quality assurance, infrastructure, and desktop support.

Interns will work closely with experienced IT professionals and cross-functional teams to support business operations and contribute to meaningful projects that enhance our technology landscape.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Participate in and gain knowledge of the daily operations and functions of the IT department.
  • Participate in IT Agile projects to include API and application development, upgrades, defect resolution, quality assurance testing, and documentation.
  • Support the IT team in troubleshooting and resolving system, application, and technology-related issues.
  • Participate in team meetings, daily standups, and collaborative planning sessions to stay aligned with project goals and timelines.
  • Provide technical support to end-users for hardware and software issues.
  • Assist with database development, SQL query design, data integration, and application support initiatives.
  • Assist with the evaluation, testing, and adoption of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and productivity solutions.
  • Participate in AI-driven initiatives by helping identify business use cases, testing AI tools and features, gathering feedback, and documenting results and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with business and IT teams to explore opportunities for process automation, workflow optimization, and enhanced user experiences through AI-enabled technologies.
  • Assist in creating training materials, demonstrations, and communications to support user adoption of new technology and AI capabilities.
Networking

As an IT Intern, you'll engage with professionals across the IT department, business units, and leadership teams, gaining exposure to a wide range of organizational functions. In addition to hands-on learning through project work and daily operations, interns participate in structured development activities such as knowledge exchange sessions designed to deepen their understanding of business processes and technology strategy.

Qualifications
