IT Project Manager, IT Consultant
JOB SUMMARY
Job Profile Summary Oversee service delivery for IT infrastructure functions. This includes technology, processes and personnel associated with system management and the delivery of technology solutions.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Oversee key technologies utilized to ensure efficient, reliable and secure delivery of IT services. This includes hardware solutions, operating systems, and system management technologies utilized to ensure established service levels are met.
- Responsible for the prioritization, assignment and resolution of issues associated with this area.
- Communicate activities to IT management on a consistent and frequent basis.
- Coordinate activities across other IT and business groups if necessary
- Provide strategic direction for key infrastructure areas.
- Coordinate and consult with IT infrastructure and application personnel to ensure business needs are driving the strategic plan
- Maintain tactical and strategic relationships with key software and service vendors. This includes assisting in the negotiation of multi-million dollar contracts and maintenance agreements related to IT infrastructure
- Consult with application teams and other project managers on any technical architecture strategies for large-scale systems.
- Ensure that technology acquisitions related to application projects are in line with overall strategies
- Communicate relevant information to project committees, development teams, vendors, and other key stakeholders as it relates to technical support and problem resolution
- Provide leadership to other managers and individual contributors engage for projects.
- Ensure proper controls are designed into solutions in order for appropriate service levels to be met
- Develop and review information including but not limited to:
Technology-based policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines Annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term plans for both O&M and capital Requests for Proposal (RFPs) Business case studies
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field or equivalent work experience plus the following job related experience:
Work Experience- Experience with ITIL, COBIT or other IT control frameworks preferred
- Experience managing O&M and capital budgets preferred
- Experience implementing network technology, server technology, and network monitoring and management tools
- Experience in use and function of office equipment including accessing computers and applicable software preferred
- Experience preparing internal and external correspondence, status reports, business cases, technical configurations, and system standards and procedures preferred
- Experience managing a medium to large team, including recruiting, retaining and developing employees preferred
- Experience developing information, conducting meetings, and making presentations preferred
Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of: architecture design and deployment, systems lifecycle management and infrastructure planning and operations
Ability to: apply math, algebra, and statistical formulas
Ability to: work effectively with senior management
Ability to: communicate and/or exchange verbal and written information or instructions
