About the Role

The Materials Management and Shipping Lead supports daily supply chain operations at Wheeler Bio’s PD/AD site. This role ensures timely receipt, storage, and distribution of non‑GMP materials used in process development and analytical development activities, prepares materials for transfer to the GMP site, and facilitates time and temperature sensitive outbound shipments. This position will also be involved in the annual inventory management process, participate in internal and external audits as needed, and contribute to the ongoing development of a mature supply chain function within the larger organization.

This position may also support purchasing activities as needed. This is an essential role that ensures smooth operational flow and on‑time execution for development teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, and document incoming PD/AD materials.
  • Maintain clean and organized receiving and general storage areas for non‑GMP raw materials, consumables, reagents, and cold‑chain items.
  • Perform and document material transactions for receipts, issues, adjustments, and inter‑site transfers.
  • Monitor and proactively restock common use supplies, coordinating with purchasing as needed.
  • Prepare, package, and coordinate outbound shipments of PD/AD material.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate documentation for audits and compliance.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in logistics, inventory, or lab support roles.
  • Experience in biotech, life sciences, or lab environments strongly preferred.
  • Ability to follow procedures, maintain accurate records, and work independently.
  • Experience with ERP systems and temperature‑controlled materials.
  • Experience with arranging temperature/time sensitive shipments domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to lift 40–50 lbs and operate warehouse equipment safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
