Under limited supervision, the Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for the physical condition of agency-owned properties and grounds to ensure a safe and reliable work environment for staff and visitors primarily at the Legacy Tower West, but will be traveling to all F&CS locations (owned or leased) as required.
Duties & Responsibilities Facilities- Maintain database record of all major equipment and system repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain all equipment and schedules for equipment service calls when applicable.
- Perform daily walkthroughs of facilities to monitor safety and repair needs.
- Maintain building manuals, warranties and other documentation in an organized and accessible manner.
- Oversee conference room schedules and usage, including furniture and equipment arrangements, and act as primary contact with room organizers.
- Monitor internal lighting systems for replacement of lights, safety issues, and complete maintenance and repair as required.
- Monitor staff usage of personal lighting/heating equipment, ensuring that all meets UL and Agency standards.
- Complete routine plumbing and HVAC maintenance/repairs and resolve emergencies and coordinate repairs to equipment as applicable.
- Monitor and adjust heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems for staff comfort.
- Oversee a regularly scheduled filter replacement program for HVAC equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with all agency safety policies.
- Comply with building and safety code requirements, including annual inspection of elevator and fire suppression equipment and extinguishers.
- Identify and communicate any safety concerns with appropriate Department Supervisors.
- Responsible for monitoring and ensuring that the site maintains high standards for lobby appearance, graphic signage uniformity in lobbies, client pamphlets, and agency materials.
- Perform daily walk-through to monitor all areas.
- Perform site repairs.
Assist in internal office moves and relocation of furniture. Communicate all move requests to Director of Facilities and Risk Management.
Qualifications- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Five (5) years of maintenance/handyman or similar experience.
- Must be able to physically lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
- Ability to work with the public, maintain an effective working relationship with agency employees, maintain a professional manner at all times and maintain confidentiality.
- Must carry a cellular phone during working hours and after hours.
- Must possess an Oklahoma Driver's License and use personal automobile to travel to locations other than primary office.
- Must obtain 1st Class Stationary Engineer (limited) license within 42 months of employment.
This job is classified as a “safety-sensitive” position as defined by the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act. Due to the “safety-sensitive” classification, an employee in this position would be subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing. Marijuana is one of the substances included in the drug panel screening. Possession of a medical marijuana license will not excuse you from the testing process or the consequences of testing positive for marijuana per the Family & Children’s Services Drug Free Workplace Policy, including possible revocation of a job offer or dismissal from employment.
