Metro Christian Academy seeks a full-time, twelve-month Custodian.

Responsible for the overall cleanliness, sanitation, and basic upkeep of the entire facility and surrounding campus. Ensures all buildings, grounds, and common areas are maintained in a safe, orderly, and well-presented condition that supports daily school operations.

• Performs general and detailed cleaning and janitorial duties to ensure a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment throughout the school.
• Cleans, sweeps, vacuums, and mops floors in classrooms, offices, hallways, stairwells, cafeteria, gymnasiums, restrooms, and athletics areas. This includes removing scuff marks, gum, sticky substances, and other debris as necessary.
• Cleans and sanitizes doors, including glass panels, hand plates, door knobs, and frames, in all areas of the building.
• Empties trash receptacles in classrooms, offices, hallways, stairwells, cafeteria, gymnasiums, restrooms, and athletics areas; replaces liners and ensures proper disposal according to school policy.
• Cleans and sanitizes restrooms thoroughly, including sinks, toilets, urinals, showers (if applicable), mirrors, dispensers, fixtures, doors, and partitions. Monitors and replenishes restroom supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, and soap.
• Dusts and wipes surfaces and furniture in all areas around the building.
• Cleans and maintains windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces to ensure clarity and streak‑free appearance.
• Monitors and maintains cleaning equipment and supplies, reporting malfunctions or shortages to the supervisor.

• Performs the duties and responsibilities of an absent custodian, ensuring continuous maintenance of school facilities.
• Strips, mops, buffs, and waxes floors on a regular schedule or as requested by the supervisor to maintain a polished and safe surface.
• Assists with the setup, breakdown, and cleanup of events, meetings, and activities in and around the building, including moving furniture and equipment as needed.
• Assists with summer clean‑up and special cleaning projects as needed.
• Assists with snow and ice removal from sidewalks, entrances, and parking areas, especially during school closures due to inclement weather.
• Responds to urgent cleaning or maintenance requests promptly to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
• Performs additional related duties as assigned by the supervisor to support overall facility management.
