Is responsible for the health and safety within the plant operations. Will provide the plant organization with leadership, guidance, strategic planning and execution in the short term and long-term operation of the plant to ensure that defined goals of the plant are achieved and sustained.
Organization Structure:The Plant Manager oversees the Production, Maintenance, Quarrying, Quality, and Purchasing functions within the plant and reports directly to the Vice President.
Nature and ScopeResponsible for the day-to-day performance and overall management of the plant.
Ensures the health and safety of employees, contractors, and visitors.
Accountable for monthly and annual performance against the approved operating budget and forecasts.
Partners with all department managers to identify and implement strategic plans for continuous operational improvement.
Ensures adherence to Eagle Materials’ corporate manufacturing doctrines and operating standards.
Maintains full compliance with all governmental regulations, permits, and environmental requirements.
Develops and manages monthly and annual cost forecasts for the plant.
Oversees employee development and succession planning initiatives across all departments.
Coaches, counsels, and supports direct reports on performance and behavioral issues, serving as a visible role model for leadership and integrity.
Collaborates with Maintenance and Production teams to troubleshoot and resolve operational and mechanical issues.
Implements and maintains a positive employee relations environment designed to maximize productivity and engagement.
Reviews operating performance to ensure conformance with schedules, cost, quality, and inventory targets; develops corrective actions when needed.
Ensures timely execution of all action plans and achievement of results.
Balances priorities across safety, quality, environmental compliance, production, and cost objectives.
Promotes continuous environmental performance improvement, consistent with the Eagle Environmental Policy.
Specific Accountabilities:Achievement of production and shipping commitments.
Attainment of product quality standards (MQOs).
Compliance with budgetary and forecasted cost targets.
Operation within all applicable environmental permits (air, water, waste).
Maintenance of outstanding safety performance, measured through MSHA incidence rate, S&S citations, and internal safety metrics.
Completion of annual training and development plan goals for plant personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required;
Master’s in Business or Engineering preferred.
Ideal candidate needs to have a good foundation in maintenance.
Proven leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
Excellent planning, organizational, and time management abilities.
Strong computer proficiency and analytical skills.
Demonstrated follow-through and accountability.
Prior cement manufacturing experience required.
