Under general direction, performs staff support duties and acts as a technical resource for mid-level management. The incumbent will be involved in planning and supervising the work of the staff development team and at times performing the most complex duties and assignments.

Educational Incentive: 2.5%, 3.5%, 5% possible educational incentive based on completion of Associate's/Bachelor's/Master's degree.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the supervision of the Staff Development Team in the absence of the Staff Development Coordinator.
  • Consult with management and supervisory personnel to determine training needs; make recommendations and develop programs to meet those identified needs.
  • Develop training materials, including PowerPoint presentations, desk aids, instructional manuals and exercises to enhance the retention of training.
  • Schedule and train staff, as appropriate; may include training for new employees as well as existing staff.
  • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Review and interpret federal and state policies and regulations and incorporate the findings into the Policies and Procedures Manual, Legal Processing Manual, and the various automated computer systems.
  • Disseminate information via Group Wise email.
  • Assist in researching and participating in the conversion to the Statewide system (CCSAS version II).
  • Perform other related duties, as required.
Qualifications

Education, Training and

Experience:

Some to extensive responsible operations, project or staff experience related to the acquisition of knowledge, skills and abilities of the position. This can be obtained by at least one (1) year of specific experience in preparing and presenting complex materials such as training programs, reports, and manuals. Must have demonstrated skills in written and oral communication. Proficiency in computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

County Agency/Department Requirement: Must currently be a regular employee with the Department of Child Support Services, County of Ventura. Regular employee means one who has been appointed from an eligible list to an allocated position in the County Service.
