Logistics Supervisor

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and supervise daily outbound logistics operations including packing, FG pulling/staging, loading freight, and shipping activities to support operational efficiency
  • Supervision of direct reports including performance management, time and attendance, hiring and managing their development including conducting quarterly coaching
  • Provides leadership for employees through effective communications
  • Oversee the packing and preparation of goods for shipping from both production and stock warehouses
  • Oversee and monitor freight forwarders for door-to-door international and domestic shipments, this includes LTL, FTL as well as FCL and LCL and file freight claims when needed
  • Ensures trade and customs compliance including the preparation and maintenance of import/export documentation and other records in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Facilitate communication between shifts and collaborate with Production and Customer Service teams to address shipping priorities, inventory issues, and production delays.
  • Drive continuous improvement through identifying and implementing process improvements following the change management processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize material flow for the logistics functions and participate in lean events and activities
  • Manage standard work and job instructions and training thereon
  • Responsible for KPI's of the team – Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity and the maintenance of the team's SQDIP boards
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment as well as submitting requisitions for all operational consumables for the logistics department
  • Understand, demonstrate, and administer the company's core values and operating principles. Maintain dock and warehouse facilities/equipment
  • Oversee forklift training and certification for all forklift operators in the plant
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies
  • Foster a culture of safety and enforce accountability for violations
  • Perform other duties as required by management

Qualifications, Education, and

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years' work experience in manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • 3 years' leadership experience preferred
  • Skills and

    Competencies:
    • Proven leadership experience and capability
    • Written and verbal communication in a clear and concise manner across all levels in the organization
    • Good team spirit and well-developed interpersonal skills
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and provide solutions/conclusions
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, internet and email
    • Ability to self-motivate and possess independent problem solving
    • Positive attitude and be committed to achieving business excellence
