As a Land Manager, you will provide day‑to‑day leadership, guidance, and support to a team of subsurface and surface Landmen and collaborate with subsurface development and operations peers. You will coordinate workflows, Land Data Management, help resolve routine issues, and partner across departments to ensure efficient land acquisition and management strategies are in place. This role focuses on operational oversight, frontline leadership, and effective collaboration—while escalating strategic decisions, complex negotiations, and long‑term planning to the Director of Land and Regulatory.
Responsibilities/Expectations:- Leads and develops a team of surface and subsurface land professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, coaching, training and career development opportunities while overseeing Land activities supporting drilling, completion, and operational objectives
- Partners with Land Administration, Accounting, Drilling & Completions, Regulatory, Legal, and other stakeholders to execute a multi-rig development program efficiently and compliantly.
- Oversees the negotiation, preparation, and administration of surface and subsurface agreements, including oil and gas leases, operating agreements, assignments, purchase and sale agreements, trades, surface use agreements, rights-of-way, and other commercial contracts
- Directs surface land operations to secure well sites, facilities, pipeline corridors, and road rights-of-way in alignment with development schedules
- Ensures the accuracy, maintenance, and compliance of land records, leases, contracts, agreements, and well data in partnership with Land Administration
- Maintains expertise in the company’s acreage position, competitor activity, and regional market trends while identifying and evaluating leasing, acquisition, and development opportunities; oversee due diligence, ownership analysis, and broker activities
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with landowners, industry partners, and government agencies, while monitoring regulatory developments and representing the company in matters related to Wyoming oil and gas operations
- Facilitates communication across the Land organization through regular team meetings, data-driven presentations, and collaboration with leadership
- Partners with the Director of Land and Regulatory to develop land strategy, establish annual goals and budgets, and drive continuous improvement, innovation, and adoption of industry best practices

Experience:
- Required:
Bachelor's degree in Land Management, Business Administration, Law, or a related field; minimum of ten (10 ) years of experience in land management, with at least five (5) years in a leadership role - Preferred:
Masters degree in Land Management, Business Administration, Law, or a related field; fifteen (15) years of experience in Land Management with ten (10) years experience in leadership
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to safety as the highest priority
- Possesses strong leadership and emotional intelligence skills, with the ability to communicate expectations clearly, provide constructive feedback, and foster accountability
- Demonstrates exceptional organizational, time management, and prioritization skills, with the ability to effectively delegate work and manage competing deadlines
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and accountability, able to manage multiple projects while maintaining quality standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and PC-based systems
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations to large groups, Executive Leadership, and Boards of Directors
- Familiarity with applicable State, Federal, and BLM regulations and associated systems and websites
