. In this executive leader role, you will be responsible for setting direction, advancing quality, and strengthening the long-term impact of the organization’s crisis continuum and around-the-clock service portfolio.
As the Senior Vice President of Crisis and 24/7 Services you will translate the organizational strategy into a unified crisis-services agenda focused on access, clinical quality, client and staff safety, measurable outcomes, sustainable workforce practices, and strong community response systems. You will advise executive leadership, develop partnerships, guide enterprise priorities, and use performance intelligence to identify risks, opportunities, and investments that improve crisis response across the communities served.
JOBDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Direction & Executive Leadership
- Define and advance the strategic direction for crisis and 24/7 services in alignment with organization’s mission, enterprise priorities, and community needs.
- Serve as the executive subject-matter leader for crisis care, advising the Chief Operating Officer, Chief Executive Officer, executive team, and Board of Directors on trends, risks, outcomes, and strategic choices.
- Create an integrated, systemwide vision for timely access, high-quality care, safe transitions, and consistent client experience across the crisis continuum.
- Establish strategic priorities, executive-level performance expectations, and accountability measures for crisis and 24/7 services.
- Lead cross-functional alignment with clinical, medical, finance, human resources, technology, compliance, quality, communications, and community leaders.
- Identify opportunities for responsible service expansion, redesign, funding diversification, and partnership-based growth.
- Establish and monitor a balanced executive scorecard addressing access, response time, successful treatment completion, avoidable discharge, length of stay, care transitions, safety, workforce sustainability, client experience, and community impact.
- Use data and trend analysis to identify system-level barriers, emerging risks, and opportunities for strategic intervention.
- Sponsor quality-improvement priorities that strengthen evidence-based care, regulatory readiness, documentation integrity, and client outcomes.
- Present concise, decision-ready reports to executive leadership and the Board of Directors, including progress against goals, risks requiring escalation, and recommended actions.
- Ensure leaders develop and execute corrective strategies when performance is below target.
- Build and sustain executive partnerships with state and local agencies, hospitals, law enforcement, EMS, dispatch, courts, schools, tribal partners, first responder organizations, housing partners, and other community stakeholders.
- Represent the organization in statewide, regional, and community forums related to crisis response, behavioral health access, public safety, and system coordination.
- Advance collaborative pathways that improve referral access, information exchange, care transitions, diversion, and connection to ongoing services.
- Identify unmet needs and emerging trends and translate them into partnership strategies, policy recommendations, or service-development proposals.
- Position the organization as a trusted convener and thought partner in the design of effective community crisis systems.
- Set a workforce strategy that supports reliable 24/7 coverage, reduces dependence on built-in overtime, strengthens retention, and protects staff wellbeing.
- Develop executive and senior-leader capability through coaching, succession planning, talent development, and clear leadership expectations.
- Promote communication, recognition, engagement, and shared accountability across crisis teams and service locations.
