Role Description The Executive Director is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Tulsa, OK, responsible for overseeing daily operations and strategic direction of the branch or designated area. This role leads and supervises staff teams, ensures high-quality program delivery, and manages budgets, resources, and facilities to support organizational goals. The Executive Director builds strong relationships with members, community partners, donors, and volunteers, fostering engagement and support for YMCA initiatives.
Day-to-day responsibilities include setting performance expectations, monitoring financial and program outcomes, ensuring compliance with policies and standards, and promoting a culture of inclusion, safety, and service. The role collaborates with senior leadership on long-term planning, fundraising efforts, and community outreach to expand the YMCA’s impact in Greater Tulsa.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership and management skills, including team supervision, performance coaching, and organizational planning.
- Experience in community-based programs, health and wellness, or nonprofit management, with a focus on member and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, resource allocation, and monitoring revenue and expenses.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse community groups, donors, and partners.
- Demonstrated ability to ensure safe, inclusive, and equitable environments aligned with the YMCA mission and values.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, nonprofit management, public administration, or a related field; advanced degree or YMCA leadership certification is a plus.
- Experience in fundraising, grant writing, or donor stewardship is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site in Tulsa, OK, with flexibility to attend events and activities outside standard business hours as needed.
