At Bama, the Shipping and Receiving Multi-skilled Warehouse Specialist is expected to understand and perform a minimum of 2 warehouse job functions and tasks. This position would be directly responsible for ensuring a high-quality safe product; while minimizing damage, meeting customer expectations, and ensuring a safe work environment and practices. The Multi-skilled Warehouse Specialist will be responsible for working in multiple positions which could be at any Bama facility.
EssentialJob Functions / Responsibilities
- Understand Shipping / Receiving and warehouse processes and possess the ability to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure all paperwork is filled out and processed correctly for area of responsibility.
- Assist in Troubleshooting failures and identify corrective actions.
- Actively participate in other plant initiatives (i.e., safety programs, quality audits, productivity) with responsibility for self and others.
- Understand quality standards, follow those standards and know what to do and who to contact when some process is not functioning correctly.
- Be responsible for GMP's of self and others in work area.
- Understand Manufacturing guidelines for food safety, food security, and sanitation.
- Responsible for daily housekeeping of the warehouse.
- Must be able to complete the certification process in a minimum of 2 warehouse functions such as:
Bulk receiving, Line Support (Line Driver and Freezer Input), Shipping/Receiving, Inventory clerk, & Shuttle Driver - Must participate in accident investigation and completion of follow-up reporting.
- Understanding of the MER process
- Understand and follows the COA process
- Understand quality standards, follow those standards and know what to do and who to contact when some process is not functioning correctly.
- Understand Manufacturing guidelines for food safety, food security and sanitation.
- Required Qualifications:
- Understand warehouse guidelines for food safety and sanitation.
- Computer skills in AS400, Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, and Email.
- Experience with sit down and stand-up forklift operation.
- Experience with Inventory control process.
- Demonstrated problem solving ability.
- Must have proven safety record in past work history.
