Mill Operator Trainee

Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is looking for a Mill Operator Trainee. This position will be responsible for roll form operations and equipment of the mill to ensure continuous operation during the shift. This will be a 4th shift position;
Friday - Sunday, 5:00am - 5:00pm.

• Safety, quality, priorities above all
• Focus on keeping the mill operational
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area, 5S
• Cross‑train team members on parts programming and mill set‑ups
• TPM of process and equipment in the area
• Coordinate daily and weekly activities with department supervisor
• Perform visual and manual quality checks of finished products
• Minimize scrap
• Work with maintenance hands‑on to get issues resolved in a timely manner

• High school or equivalent
• Experience in using special measuring devices, callipers, tape measure
• Work with experienced operators on equipment safety and operation
• Attention to detail
• Ability to retain information that is being taught and shown to new operator
• Demonstrate ability to meet negotiated time frames
• Good Mechanical Aptitude
• Must be able to document downtime through seamless reporting system to drive KPI tracking
• Good communication skills with coworkers to ensure continuous flow of the mill and material handler for proper tagging of product
• Ability to think and react to schedule changes and conditions on the mill
• Ability to be a contributing and valued team member for continuous improvement activities
