Job Overview
The Assembler/Welder supports the fabrication and assembly of enclosure components by performing basic welding, fit-up, and mechanical assembly tasks under supervision. This entry-level position is suitable for candidates with 0–3 years of experience and focuses on building foundational welding and assembly skills, following established work instructions, and supporting the safe and efficient production of enclosure frames, panels, and subassemblies.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with structural welding on enclosure components by following drawings and trained welding procedures.
- Perform basic mechanical assembly tasks, including fitting panels, installing hardware, and preparing components for welding or final assembly.
- Read and follow blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to determine weld and assembly requirements.
- Support material movement and positioning using overhead cranes or rigging equipment (training provided as needed).
- Perform visual weld inspections, report defects, and assist with rework under supervision.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all safety and PPE requirements, including use of respirators when required.
- Assist with setup and teardown of welding and assembly workstations.
- Work with team members to meet daily production goals and keep work flowing efficiently.
- 0–3 years of experience in welding, fabrication, or mechanical assembly.
- Reliable team player with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Welding certifications (AWS, ASME) or welding/technical school coursework.
- Experience with overhead cranes or rigging is a plus; training will be provided.
