Structure Assembler

Job Description

The Structure Assembler performs assembly and sub‑assembly of aerospace components, using a variety of hand and power tools to build high‑quality aircraft structures. You follow detailed work instructions and established procedures, verify compliance with customer specifications using precision measuring tools, and ensure all tasks meet stringent aerospace quality and safety standards. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a production environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform assembly and sub‑assembly of aerospace and aviation structures using drills, rivet tools, pneumatic tools, and other hand and power tools.
  • Install and secure fasteners, rivets, and sealants according to blueprints, technical drawings, and customer specifications.
  • Read and accurately interpret shop blueprints, technical drawings, and customer specifications to complete assemblies correctly and on time.
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other inspection tools to verify part dimensions and ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Inspect completed assemblies for quality, fit, and function, and identify and report any nonconformances or defects.
  • Follow established procedures, work instructions, and production schedules to complete work in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Maintain high standards of safety and quality while working with tools, equipment, and aerospace materials.
  • Use mechanical and hand tools effectively to perform mechanical assembly tasks in a production or manufacturing setting.
  • Work collaboratively with other technicians and production staff to meet project and production goals.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly handle tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Adhere to all company policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements relevant to aerospace and aviation manufacturing.
Essential Skills
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Experience reading and accurately interpreting shop blueprints, technical drawings, and customer specifications is required.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers and calipers, is required.
  • Experience using hand tools and instruments such as calipers, height gauges, drills, and rivet guns is required.
  • Mechanical assembly experience in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace, aviation, or aircraft assembly.
  • Proficiency with pneumatic tools, riveting, rivet guns, fasteners, and sealant application.
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions and established procedures while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate measurements and inspections.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Vocational training in a technical or mechanical field is preferred.
  • Five (5) years of experience in mechanical assembly or a similar production/manufacturing role is preferred.
  • Experience in aerospace, aviation, or aircraft assembly is highly beneficial.
  • Experience working in a production environment with sealants, fasteners, and structural assemblies.
  • Comfort using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools in a manufacturing setting.
