CNC Machinist

What you will do:

• Sets up and operates CNC lathes to perform threading operations on experimental, individual or quantity parts or rods.
• Selects mounts and aligns various machine attachments, standard or improvised tooling.
• Sets and adjusts speeds, feeds and depths of cuts where applicable.
• May be required to edit programs.
• May be required to operate partner’s machine and own machine at the same time during breaks and lunches.
• Conducts inspection to ascertain threaded rods meet Norris and/or API specifications using various precision and non-precision instruments, templates and go/no-go gauges.
• Records inspection data for purposes of maintaining statistical information.
• May be required to attach protector in coupling and/or attach coupling on rod end to proper tightness.
• Monitors feed table and straightens improperly placed rods.
• Performs routine maintenance on the equipment including cleaning, adjusting and maintaining proper fluid levels and filters.
• Maintains work area clean and in an orderly condition.
• May be assigned other duties as required.

• Completion of High School or Vocational Technical training in machine tools with emphasis in shop math or equivalent experience, including basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of G‑codes, precision tool measuring instruments, blueprint reading, and shop math.
• Four years of directly related experience.
