Shift: This is a 2nd shift position. Candidates must be available to work Monday through Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to 3 a.m.
OverviewOperator of multiple machines to fabricate high quality metal and plastic components, safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Produce parts from raw materials (bar, flat forms, casting and forging materials, ferrous and non‑ferrous metals, plastics) using various machine tools.
- Operate a variety of machine tools based on blueprints, sketches, specifications and oral instructions to procure tools, jobs, and fixtures.
- Shape and thread parts to meet manufacturing tolerances using standard hand tools and measuring instruments.
- Select feeds and speeds for cutting operations on a wide variety of materials.
- Grind or dress own cutting tools, perform machine‑shop mathematical computations using charts, tables and equipment manuals.
- Set up own machine, conducting shaping and threading operations, including all necessary steps from blueprints to final inspection.
- Perform minor repairs and adjustments to equipment as necessary.
- Follow safety policies and initiatives, report unsafe conditions, and participate in corrective and preventive safety initiatives.
- Maintain a clean, orderly work area in accordance with TDW safety standards.
3–5 years in pipeline equipment manufacturing or a related role.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Read blueprints and work to strict manufacturing tolerances.
- Know the operation of engine and turret lathes, milling machines, drill presses, CNC machines, and assorted hand tools.
- Perform necessary machine‑shop math computations.
- Set up feeds, speeds and tools independently.
- Use precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers) for in‑process inspection.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.; endure prolonged standing and work in various positions (kneeling, crouching, bending, stooping, squatting, or lying down).
- Maintain good hand‑eye coordination and operate machine controls effectively.
- Monitor machine operations, read gauges, identify defects, and respond to machine sounds and alarms.
- Move efficiently around workstations, sometimes into tight spaces or on high platforms, and reach overhead or across work areas to adjust settings or handle products.
- Operate complex machinery, multitask, and respond quickly to changes while adhering to safety protocols and using PPE.
- Possibly operate manufacturing machinery such as carts, pallet jacks, forklifts or conveyors (training or certification may be required).
Capacity to operate complex machinery, requiring multitasking and quick response to changes, with awareness of surroundings and adherence to safety protocols.
