Start a life-long career with a fast-paced, family oriented company! Wood Systems Inc., a Mill Creek Lumber & Supply Company is looking for a reliable Materials Handler to ensure successful receiving, checking, picking and loading of materials.
Duties and Responsibilities- Unloads inbound freight, verifies the material matches the order and records any damages or shortages.
- Obtains driver’s signature on bill of lading.
- Assembles store shipments by palletizing, shrink wrapping and labeling the units.
- Inspects the shipment, ensuring it is securely covered and strapped.
- Build Millwork material packages by hand.
- Operate a forklift, stock and stage materials for manufacturing. (Forklift Training Available)
- Ensure cleanliness by removing all waste from the facility.
- Cycle counts/inventory monitoring.
- Keep materials organized, safe and ready for production.
- Follow all safety policies.
- Adheres to safety requirements when operating tools and equipment.
- Ensures safety functions on equipment are operating properly.
- Handles material in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Reports any defects or safety issues immediately.
- Completes required safety training.
- Inspects the shipment, ensuring it is securely covered and strapped.
- Responsible for performing the physical tasks involved in receiving, checking, picking and loading of material to and from trucks and warehouse.
- Ensures store shipments are assembled correctly and material is restocked to and from warehouse areas.
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work 50+ hours per week (5 to 6 days per week).
- Knowledge and expertise in the use of a variety of tools.
- Ability to do repetitious work.
- Must be able to work at a fast pace.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Lift, drag and carry objects weighing approximately 60lbs.
- Ability to work on your feet for several hours at a time.
- Shifts are generally 50+ hours per week.
- Operate a forklift everyday.
- Manual labor required.
- Indoor & Outdoor work conditions in both climate controlled areas and out in nature's elements.
