The Thompson Creek Mine is a primary, surface molybdenum mine and mill located approximately 48 kilometers southwest of the town of Challis in Idaho’s Custer County.

In operations since 1983, the mine uses conventional open‑pit mining methods with large electric‑powered shovels that can each move up to 100,000 tons of waste rock and ore per day.

Thompson Creek Mine promotes a drug and alcohol‑free workplace and has adopted a zero‑tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.

We are looking for a
** Supervisor, Mill Operations
** to join our Thompson Creek team. Under the direction of the Superintendent, Mill Operations, the Supervisor, Mill Operations is responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective day‑to‑day operation of the mill. This role provides direct supervision to mill operators and ensures production targets, recovery, and operational standards are achieved while maintaining a strong focus on safety and environmental compliance.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Directly supervise mill operators, including scheduling, task assignment, and performance management.
• Ensure production targets are met and coordinate production activities with the maintenance department.
• Provide training to enhance mill operators’ job knowledge and performance.
• Conduct core competency reviews and skill level evaluations with mill operators.
• Inspect work area to ensure specific operational performance, optimum utilization and safety standards are being met.
• Investigate irregularities, upsets, and accidents; recommend procedures and methods to improve production capabilities, equipment performance, product quality and employee safety.
• Maintain time and production reports and records. Ensure that operational reports, logs, spreadsheets, and other production documents are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with Company policies and address complaints regarding employment and safety issues. Ensure adherence to standard operational procedures and work practices related to quality, quantity, safety and efficiency.
• Other duties as assigned.

To qualify, the following skills and experiences are required:

• Must possess excellent leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Must have the ability to prioritize assignments and make well‑reasoned timely decisions.
• Must have knowledge and understanding of safe and efficient mining practices, procedures, and regulations.
• Five to seven years related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
