Structural Fabrication Supervisor

Overview

System One is working with a manufacturer in the Tulsa area to place a Structural Fabrication Supervisor.

Responsibilities

+ Supervise daily fabrication operations, including welders and fitters

+ Schedule manpower and assign work based on the master production schedule

+ Review upcoming work and adjust labor, sequencing, and resources as needed

+ Order materials and ensure availability to support fabrication schedules

+ Coordinate and manage subcontracted fabrication work

+ Build, modify, and maintain fabrication fixtures and jigs to improve efficiency and consistency

+ Monitor quality, productivity, and safety throughout the department

+ Enforce shop procedures, safety rules, and work standards

+ Hold employees accountable for performance, attendance, quality, and safety

+ Troubleshoot fabrication issues and work with management or engineering to resolve them

+ Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements

+ Communicate shop status, delays, and needs clearly to management

+ Manage subcontractors or outside fabrication vendors

Requirements

+ 5+ years of experience in structural steel or heavy fabrication

+ Previous supervisory, lead, or foreman experience preferred

+ Strong knowledge of welding processes and structural fabrication methods

+ Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and fabrication documents

+

Experience with scheduling labor, coordinating materials, and meeting production deadlines

+ Proven ability to lead crews and enforce accountability

+ Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills

+ Willingness to be hands-on when needed

+ Microsoft Office Suite - basic working knowledge (Outlook, Excel, Word)
