Fabrication Operator
Southern Specialties is looking for a Fabrication Operator to work at our climate-controlled facility, where components for sheet metal products are produced. Fabrication Operators will primarily utilize saws, drills, mills, taps, and other sanding, cutting, deburring, and grinding equipment to finish parts coming off the laser operator's table and moving the completed part to the next operation. We are looking for someone that is detail oriented and knows how to utilize hand/power tools.
The ideal candidate will also have experience with Press Brakes and other metal forming machines and equipment.
The hours are Monday through Thursday, 5:00am-3:30pm.
Responsibilities:- Set up and operate machinery
- Read and interpret blueprints and drawings
- Inspect finished products for quality
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Previous experience working in a fabrication environment preferred
- Proficient with measuring equipment including Height Gauge, Calipers, Tape Measure, Squares, Angle Finders
- Proficiency with Blueprints and Work Instructions
- Experience with industrial machinery and equipment
- Knowledge of basic shop math
- Prior experience in metal fabrication
Strong attention to detail - Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Generally, 95% of the normal work shift requires standing, bending, squatting, and climbing while running production, inspecting work and machines and checking procedures. Job requires moving of material and parts weighing up to 50 pounds. Lifting devices should be used when possible. Parts must be lifted, pulled, pushed, and held in place, sometimes without benefit of material handling devices due to limited space and confined areas in and around machines.
