Responsible for:
Using hand or powered equipment, loading and moving materials with or near the work site by performing the following duties.
- Supplies operators with work and material and removes completed parts per route sheet sequence and as required.
- Reads route sheets or follows verbal instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved. Checks material against route sheets for accuracy.
- Positions materials and containers as required.
- Removes scrap from machines, places in correct containers and moves to designated areas.
- Loads and unloads material onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves.
- May count, weigh, and/or measure units of materials moved or handled as required.
- Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on tote pans, skids or other containers.
- Lifts objects thirty-five (35) pounds or less by hand and objects thirty-five (35) pounds or over with powered equipment, and cleans work area, machines and equipment to assist operators.
- Keeps assigned area clean and organized at all times.
- Removes trash from assigned area and brings to the assigned trash location in the warehouse.
- Operate fork truck and coordinate activities with shift warehouse personnel.
- Reports job operations/activities on daily labor ticket.
- Performs other related work as instructed by Set‑Up person or supervisor.
EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE
SKILLS:
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurements, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate and percent.
REASONING
SKILLS:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
