Under direct supervision, Level 1 Etch Line Operators prepare products for the etching process, including cleaning, masking, visual inspection, basic racking, and movement of products through the etch line process. Candidates must be self‑disciplined, self‑motivated individuals with strong accountability and attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast‑paced production environment while maintaining a strong work ethic and compliance with company policies and leadership directives. Candidates should also possess good communication skills and represent the company in a positive and professional manner.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining a clean and organized work area and adhering to all company safety rules and regulations. Level 1 Etch Line Operators will perform verification processes to ensure all traces of organic soils, fingerprints, dirt, dust, and other contaminants are removed using approved solvent cleaners.

As a condition of assignment, candidates may be required to process products controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Therefore, candidates may be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, Legal Permanent Residence, or protected status as a Non‑Citizen National of the United States.

Primary

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Review and follow work instructions related to racking, unracking, and cleaning operations.
  • Perform receiving inspections prior to processing and immediately report any damage or discrepancies.
  • Gather supplies such as racks, tooling, baskets, carts, and other materials as needed.
  • Rack production parts for cleaning, anodizing, and chem‑treat operations.
  • Clean production parts, including degreasing and manual solvent cleaning.
  • Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) during assigned tasks, including goggles, safety glasses, aprons, boots, gloves, and hearing protection, while complying with all safety policies and directives.
  • Work in environments involving chemicals/solvents, occasional fumes, wet or humid conditions, and moderate noise levels.
  • Perform heavy lifting and use mechanical hoists when necessary to move objects safely.
  • Work closely with leadership to complete assignments and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Complete required documentation, count production parts, perform computer scanning, package products for protection and transport, and perform other assigned duties.

This position also includes duties related to the collection and storage of hazardous waste, including:

  • Proper use of PPE required for assigned tasks.
  • Proper disposal of used PPE in designated containers.
  • Proper transfer of work center containers to the correct hazardous waste storage locations.
  • Proper labeling and handling of waste collection containers.
  • Familiarity with facility emergency procedures and the Hazardous Waste Contingency Plan.
Required Skills
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods with limited movement.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, including understanding written procedures and instructions.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, changing environment with multiple priorities.
Required Experience
  • Typically 0–1 years of related experience preferred.
Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must be able to read and write in English.
