Production Manager, Operations Manager
Role Summary
As the Production Manager at Greenheck Group, you will provide daily direction and leadership to maximize productivity through effective staffing, equipment, materials, and capital utilization. You will support business unit objectives, communicate with stakeholders, and contribute to sales & operations planning for the production area.
Responsibilities- Directly supervise hourly production employees and those in supervisory or manufacturing support roles.
- Plan, monitor, execute, and communicate daily, monthly, and annual production goals.
- Assist in the sales and operations planning to meet financial targets and customer‑service objectives for a rolling 12‑month horizon.
- Coordinate activities with internal departments that impact production (scheduling, engineering, shipping, inventory control, sales, purchasing, etc.).
- Monitor daily variance to plan and implement capacity adjustments—including overtime, flex labor, and capital investment—to execute the S&O plan.
- Lead value streams and production areas, identifying and executing continuous‑improvement projects that meet productivity goals and maximize efficiency.
- Work with Material Specialists to define procedures that ensure proper inventory management.
- Ensure proper maintenance and optimal performance of production machinery and equipment.
- Maintain work areas to meet or exceed company 5S and safety standards.
- Participate in root‑cause analysis of safety incidents to prevent recurrence.
- Lead continuous‑improvement activities that enhance key performance indicators, safety culture, and team‑member relations.
- Participate in and lead activities related to the 5S and Safety teams when necessary.
- Improve productivity and efficiencies through effective team‑member engagement, labor planning, lean manufacturing principles, and materials planning.
- Develop cross‑training plans and encourage continued development of team members.
- Meet or exceed customer‑service expectations, including quality and on‑time shipping.
- Maintain knowledge of current labor agreements, regional labor policies, and applicable regulations.
- Participate in labor‑agreement negotiations, where applicable.
- Provide input to manufacturing‑engineering functions to improve productivity through plant layout, process flow, routings/labor standards, work methods, capital equipment, and quality levels.
- Provide guidance and support for corporate maintenance initiatives.
- Represent manufacturing to outside visitors, such as company tours, applicants in the interview process, and vendors/suppliers as needed.
- 6-8 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 6-8 years of supervisory or managerial experience.
- 4‑year bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations management, engineering, business administration, management, or a related field—or equivalent years of job experience.
- Training in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.
Greenheck Group offers competitive total compensation and a comprehensive benefits package. The base salary for this position ranges from $114,000 to $144,837, with variable compensation based on performance metrics. Physical Requirements- Work performed in an office environment and requires using standard office equipment (computer, phone).
- Sedentary work with occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds.
- Repetitive motion and substantial wrist, hand, and finger movements.
- Close visual acuity for data preparation, analysis, transcribing, and computer terminal viewing.
- Occasional mobility required for in‑person meetings and office tasks.
- Work may be performed on site, at home, or in a hybrid setting.
