Industrial Painter
Location: Tulsa, OK
Pay: $24-00 - $28.00 per hour + OT
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday-Friday with overtime opportunities
Blue Worx Staffing is seeking an experienced Industrial Painter for a premier manufacturing operation in the Tulsa area. This position is responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing fabricated metal products using industrial paint systems, including zinc-rich primers and protective coatings.
The ideal candidate will have experience painting structural steel, heavy equipment, pressure vessels, tanks, or other industrial products and be comfortable working in a production environment where quality and safety are top priorities.
Responsibilities of a Painter- Prepare surfaces for painting through cleaning, grinding, sanding, masking, and other preparation methods
- Mix and apply industrial coatings according to manufacturer specifications
- Apply zinc-rich primers, epoxies, urethanes, and specialty coatings using airless and conventional spray equipment
- Verify coating coverage and thickness requirements are met
- Inspect finished products for quality, appearance, and compliance with specifications
- Perform touch-up and repair work as needed
- Maintain painting equipment and ensure proper cleaning and storage procedures
- Follow all safety policies and procedures regarding PPE, ventilation, and hazardous materials
- Work closely with production and quality teams to meet customer requirements and delivery schedules
- Minimum of 2 years of industrial painting experience
- Experience applying zinc-rich coatings and industrial protective paint systems
- Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and coating application standards
- Experience operating airless spray equipment
- Ability to read work orders, drawings, and coating specifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to stand, bend, lift, and work in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Experience painting structural steel or fabricated metal products
- Sandblasting or surface preparation experience
- Knowledge of DFT (Dry Film Thickness) and coating inspection processes
- Experience in a fabrication, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift
- Ability to wear required PPE, including respirators when necessary
- Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled industrial environment
