The Maintenance Technician troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains a variety of production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This role performs both preventive and emergency maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and HVAC systems while supporting facility improvements, safety compliance, and smooth production flow in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and repair finning machines, saws, lathes, forklifts, and facility systems to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
- Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems to reduce unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.
- Diagnose and repair issues in hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems using appropriate tools and methods.
- Respond promptly to emergency repair requests to minimize production interruptions and restore equipment to service.
- Support facility improvement projects by assisting with equipment upgrades, modifications, and layout changes.
- Contribute to safety compliance by maintaining equipment in safe working condition and following established safety procedures.
- Collaborate closely with operations teams to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize impact on production schedules.
- Work with the Maintenance Supervisor to coordinate tasks, prioritize work orders, and ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
- Assist with guiding and supporting team members during maintenance tasks, leveraging prior leadership or supervisory experience when applicable.
- Document maintenance work performed and communicate equipment status and issues to relevant stakeholders.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing or general machine shop environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Hands‑on experience performing preventive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
- Proficiency in working with finning machines, saws, lathes, forklifts, and related shop equipment.
- Electrical troubleshooting skills, including diagnosing and repairing control circuits and components.
- Ability to troubleshoot and work with PLC controls and PLC systems.
- Experience with HVAC systems in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Solid mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues.
- Capability to work independently and as part of a team while coordinating tasks with operations and maintenance leadership.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to established safety practices and procedures.
Skills & Qualifications
- General machine shop experience, including familiarity with common shop tools and equipment.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience, particularly in a maintenance or production environment.
- Experience supporting facility improvement projects and equipment upgrades.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with operations, maintenance, and supervisory staff.
- Willingness to participate in training and skill development programs.
