Position Overview
This is an individual contributor position responsible for developing and managing the maintenance schedule to balance preventative maintenance demands and repair of essential equipment and facilities. The schedule is segmented by daily, weekly and monthly buckets.
Responsibilities- Plan, schedule and coordinate the maintenance schedule by reviewing and releasing work orders, and supplier schedules.
- Purchase essential maintenance items not maintained in inventory and coordinate supplier scheduled orders according to existing strategy and negotiated prices.
- Manage work orders and expenses for maintaining essential equipment, maintenance hours and other information as needed.
- Represent the company to internal employees, other sites, outside vendors and other company functions.
- Coordinate and manage inventory levels of critical spare parts and ensure necessary maintenance and production supply items are immediately available.
- Conduct data reporting to identify through trend analysis opportunities and suggestions for improvement for processes and workflow.
- Schedule daily workload with minimal supervision or direction and manage multiple simultaneous priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Organize meetings, tours for vendors, and share inventory and maintenance requirements with stakeholders.
- Evaluate preventative maintenance requirements and create work orders.
- Organize project work and repair work required by the maintenance team.
- Maintain planned scheduling parameters such as lead‑times, lot sizes, safety stocks, delivery times and order file data for all scheduled items.
- Create a schedule that satisfies production demands with optimum scheduling to prevent equipment downtime.
- Identify, negotiate and resolve conflicts with respect to material and capacity availability and order‑promising integrity.
- Source and request quotes for new material or new suppliers for special purchase items.
- Review equipment list and preventative maintenance instructions for new or change to existing materials.
- Summarize daily and weekly work orders for released and firm planned orders and compare these to the preventative maintenance plan.
The work is typically performed in an office setting with occasional visits to manufacturing settings. The incumbent must sit for extended periods, use hands, lift up to 15 pounds for large files or equipment, and use ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height, keyboard location and wrist supports. When in the production facility, the employee will be required to wear safety shoes, safety glasses, high‑visibility clothing and hearing protection.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or Associate’s degree with 3+ years of experience, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing techniques.
- Attention to detail and quality in work.
Preferred
- Prior experience setting up and planning schedules.
- Demonstrated abilities in visual scheduling and inventory optimization.
- Prior experience with master scheduling utilizing production family methodologies.
- Global thinking about an integrated organization and support of its goals.
- Ability to communicate openly and honestly in a clear and concise manner.
- Knowledge of mathematics and data analysis.
- Prior experience outsourcing and purchasing.
- Knowledge of IFS planning, scheduling, and replenishment tools.
