Position SummaryOur client is looking for an experienced CNC Setup/Operator to join their growing team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a custom manufacturing environment where every project presents a new challenge. You’ll be responsible for setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes while producing precision-machine parts to customer specifications.
The facility is climate-controlled, providing a comfortable work environment year-round.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes with HAAS, Fanuc, or Mazak controls.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders.
- Select and install tooling, fixtures, and work holding equipment.
- Perform machine offsets and make minor program adjustments when necessary.
- Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final quality inspections.
- Maintain quality standards while meeting production schedules.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and help improve manufacturing processes.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all safety procedures.
- Minimum 2 years of CNC setup and operating experience preferred.
- Experience with HAAS, Fanuc, or Mazak controls.
- Ability to independently set up CNC mills and/or lathes.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand machining tolerances.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Dependable with a solid work ethic and reliable transportation.
- Custom fabrication or job shop manufacturing.
- Minor program editing.
- Experience machining steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and other metals.
- $18–$30/hour, based on experience
