Paint Tech

Overview

Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is looking for a Paint Tech. This position will be responsible for maintaining all functions of the coating’s operation from chemicals to the actual coating process. It also includes quality checks and following all proper PPE policies.

• Take ownership of the E-Coat or Powder coat process area with minimal supervision.
• Perform routine quality checks and titrations.
• Handle PM related items within control.
• Deal with hazardous waste and comply with all storm water policies.
• Follow all SOPs provided while in the facility.
• Store paint and paint solvent materials in designated grounded and bonded flammable cabinets.
• Cross-train in other paint operations areas as needed.
• Wear company provided PPE, including pulmonary respirator protection.

• High School or GED equivalent, or trade school experience.
• Understanding of safety and environmental regulations for industrial pretreatment chemicals, industrial paints, and grounding/bonding processes.
• Familiarity with respirators and fresh air paint hoods.
• Ability to read pretreatment and paint safety data sheets and technical data sheets.
• Experience with storm water permits or wastewater functions.
• Experience with paint pots, paint hoses, paint guns and general painting equipment.
• Track paint and solvent usage and maintain documentation.
• Knowledge of paint booth and filter; ability to perform PMs on booth filters and document filter change-outs.
• Experience with powder paint, electro‑coat, and liquid paint (preferred).
