General Laborer

Job Overview

General Laborer – Plant Operations at Valmont.

Shift: 1st – Monday through Thursday, 5:00am – 3:30pm.
Pay: $17.83 per hour.

• Stock other workers with supplies, materials, and tools needed for daily tasks.
• Operate routine machine operations such as feeding and unloading various machines.
• Set up and run grinding machines to process metal work pieces.
• Inspect crane mechanisms and lifting accessories to prevent malfunctions and damage.
• Assist other workers with essential duties as required.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations related to product setup.
• Conduct general maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain a safe, productive environment and ensure quality products are shipped on time.
• Report directly to the Production Supervisor.

• Safe operation of overhead crane.
• Basic arithmetic and ability to read shop drawings.
• Measure with a tape measure.
• Problem‑solving skills with practical solutions.
• Team‑work with diverse groups.
• Detail oriented and follow work instructions.
• Meet production, safety and quality standards in a fast‑paced environment.
• Occasional lifting up to 50lbs; most frequent up to 20lbs.
• Ready to become Valmont‑trained and certified in forklift and overhead crane.
• High safety awareness and use of required PPE.

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1year of experience in manufacturing or fabrication.
• 1year of experience operating hand or power tools.
• Positive communication with coworkers.
• Ability to report maintenance or product problems to supervision.
• Experience in high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
• Commitment to safety through excellent practices.
