Southern Specialties is looking for a dependable, hardworking Material Handler – Inventory Control professional to join our growing team in our clean, climate-controlled sheet metal fabrication and assembly facility.
We manufacture high-quality, precision products, and we rely on organized, safety-focused team members to keep materials moving efficiently throughout our operation. If you enjoy hands-on work, staying organized, and being part of a supportive team environment, this could be a great fit.
Work hours: Monday – Friday 7am – 3:30pm
What You’ll Do
In this role, you'll help ensure materials are accurately tracked, stored, and delivered where they’re needed so production runs smoothly.
- Receive, inspect, and organize incoming materials using handheld scan gun technology
- Stock and transfer materials to proper locations within the facility
- Pick parts and stage materials for production jobs and customer shipments
- Safely load and unload trucks and trailers
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts
- Help identify and resolve inventory discrepancies and root causes
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
- Work closely with production and warehouse teams to keep projects moving
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace
- 2+ years of experience in a controlled warehouse or manufacturing environment
- Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and scan guns
- Strong attention to detail and inventory accuracy
- Forklift experience preferred
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
- Reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a team environment
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
