2232 - Job Title: MIXING TECHNICIAN

Applies advanced technical skills and knowledge to prepare and mix ingredients using prescribed formula and operates mixing machine to blend ingredients into compounds for casting acrylic sheets and billets.
Essential Functions &Key Responsibilities
- Performs mathematical computations required to mix ingredients to make a compound that when blended will produce an acrylic liquid that can be cast into sheets and billets. These are moderate to complex products requiring experience and judgment to determine plans and action from standard procedural alternatives.
- Operates computer controlled mixing machine to produce acrylic liquid. Loads ingredients into mixing machine hopper from conveyor, scales, or hand trucks, or directs other workers in performing this task.
- Starts machine and adjusts valves to admit steam or cooling fluids to steam jacket or devices in mixing chamber to aid in blending and densifying mixture.
- Operates machine until mixture reaches desired consistency, and turns lever to unload mixture into container, conveyor, or mill for sheeting.
Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment.
Minimum Qualifications Education Requirements- Minimum High School or GED.
If applicable, a combination of experience and training may be substituted for the education requirement.
Experience Requirements4 year(s) Operating specialized mixing equipment to blend formulated ingredients into compounds for processing into acrylic billets used to fabricate parts for operational aircraft and other applications.
year(s) Completion of an approved Company training course for formulated mixing operations using DuPont Monomer will meet the experience requirements for this job.
Skills and Competencies- Ability to perform mathematical computations involving multiplication and division.
- Respirator training, certification and fit test.
- Must be clean shaven at the respirator seal.
- Pulmonary function test is required.
- Ability and willingness to assist and transfer technical knowledge to less experienced Stakeholders.
Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required. Additionally, those who work at NORDAM Repair Division must be able to ascend and descend stairs.

While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment can vary from loud to a more moderate level.
Supervision- Works under general supervision.
- Work is reviewed for completion to quality standards and schedule requirements.
- May adapt techniques and tools to meet special needs with approval from management.
