Wave/Select Solder Operator

The Wave / Select Solder Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining wave and selective soldering equipment to ensure high-quality soldering of electronic assemblies. This role plays a key part in supporting production efficiency while meeting quality and safety standards.

Job Summary

* Set up and operate wave and selective solder machines according to work instructions and production schedules

* Load and unload printed circuit boards (PCBs) into soldering equipment

* Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper solder flow and quality

* Inspect soldered assemblies for defects such as bridging, insufficient solder, or cold joints

* Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning and basic troubleshooting of equipment

* Verify materials, flux levels, and solder pot conditions prior to operation

* Document production data, defects, and machine performance as required

* Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area

* Work closely with quality and engineering teams to resolve process issues

Skills and Qualifications

* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

* Ability to follow written work instructions and technical documentation

* Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability

* Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

* Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation

Required Experience and Education

* High school diploma or equivalent required

* 1-3 years of experience in electronics manufacturing preferred

* Experience operating wave or selective solder equipment preferred

Licenses, Certifications, etc.

* IPC-A-610 certification preferred (or ability to obtain after hire)

* J-STD-001 certification preferred (or ability to obtain after hire)
