Lead and Inspire Excellence in Quarry Operations

Position Overview

Are you ready to take the next step in your career and oversee the dynamic operations of local area quarries? We are seeking an experienced and driven Aggregate Superintendent to lead our aggregate production teams, supervise all aspects of quarry operations—including third-party blasting contractors—and champion safety, efficiency, and quality. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop quarry operations teams through effective supervision, performance management, and scheduling.
  • Oversee daily start-up, production, and shutdown of all plants, ensuring seamless day and night operations.
  • Direct daily maintenance activities and manage planned shutdowns for optimal equipment reliability.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate production and operational resources to achieve safety, quality, and output goals.
  • Partner with Area Manager and Operations Manager to communicate operational status, resolve challenges, and implement improvements.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and proactively address production bottlenecks.
  • Manage employee schedules, time-off requests, and maintain accurate timekeeping records.
  • Coordinate drilling and blasting activities with third-party contractors for maximum productivity and compliance.
  • Ensure strict compliance with company policies, work rules, and government regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the quarry operations.
Qualifications And Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in stone production and quality control.
  • Supervisory experience is highly valued, but candidates with a strong background in aggregates and leadership potential are encouraged to apply.
  • Proficiency in computer applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and basic math.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage employees, management, and customers professionally.
  • Proven ability to build and work within a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to stay calm and professional under pressure and in challenging situations.
  • Ability to interpret and apply instructions, solve complex problems, and document findings clearly.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must successfully complete a drug screen and background check.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and communicate effectively in a variety of environments.
  • Visual acuity for close, distant, peripheral, and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus (with correction).
  • Capable of working indoors and outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, moving machinery, elevated work areas, electrical hazards, and loud environments.
