Job DescriptionA client of Insight Global is seeking a Value Stream Manager to lead end-to-end manufacturing operations within a core value stream at the site level. This role is responsible for driving performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) while translating site strategy into disciplined daily execution. This leader will oversee production, continuous improvement, planning, and cross-functional coordination to ensure predictable output, strong customer delivery, and sustained operational performance.
The ideal candidate is a high-impact manufacturing leader with strong Lean/TPS experience, financial acumen, and the ability to build and develop high-performing teams while executing long-term strategy.
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, value stream management, operations leadership
- Experience leading large manufacturing environments, production teams (200+ employees minimum; 500+ strongly preferred)
- Strong manufacturing background in:
Equipment manufacturing;
High-volume, complex/durable goods environments; (Examples: automotive, aerospace, HVAC, industrial, electronics — NOT pharma, food/bev, chemical, paper, packaging, cosmetic) - Deep knowledge of Lean / Operational Excellence:
- Value Stream Management
- Flow systems, pull systems
- Kanban - SMED - JIT / JIS
- Kaizen - TPS, BPS, or similar production systems - Proven ability to:
Lead and execute Kaizen events (minimum expectation: 3+ meaningful annually);
Drive measurable improvements (ex: scrap reduction, throughput gains, quality improvements);
Sustain improvements through standardization and operating systems - P&L ownership
- Cost drivers (i.e. labor, material, scrap, transportation, and productivity)
- Ability to make operational decisions that improve profitability
- Experience leading larger-scale business units ($300M+)
- Demonstrated ability to:
Translate strategy into execution;
Set KPIs and operating rhythms;
Deliver consistent results across safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC) - Bachelor’s degree (engineering or related field preferred)
- Experience with SAP or ERP systems for operational and financial decision-making
- Exposure to multi-site or global manufacturing operations International teams, customers, or supply chains
- Broader business experience outside core operations (i.e. ~ supply chain, logistics, purchasing, quality)
