Machine Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliability and optimal performance of our production equipment. This role involves the repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of sort machines and facility systems. The technician supports production uptime and contributes to our operational efficiency and commitment to excellence.
Duties/Responsibilities- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, systems.
- Maintain production machinery such as Mail sorting machines
- Respond promptly to breakdowns, diagnose the root cause, and restore operation quickly.
- Document all repairs, inspections, and maintenance performed.
- Work closely with production supervisors and Sorting machine operators to coordinate maintenance activities with minimal impact on production.
- Assist with machine installations, upgrades, and relocations.
- Collaborate with production operators/supervisor/plant manager to identify recurring equipment issues and recommend long-term solutions.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Maintain tools, parts inventory, and organized work areas.
- Provide input to maintenance planning and equipment upgrade opportunities.
- Provide input on equipment reliability and improvement opportunities.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs consistently.
- Follow all Moore safety protocols and actively participate in company safety initiatives.
- Required to stand for long periods of time, bend, reach and move about the facility
- Required to grip twist and turn both hands for long periods of time
- Consistent and Reliable attendance is MANDATORY.
- All other duties as assigned
- Ability to perform as a member of ateam or independently
- Familiarity with printing production machinery
- Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, multimeters, pneumatic systems, and schematics.
- Ability to identify and solve problems independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer skills for logging maintenance activities and reviewing equipment documentation.
- Demonstrated mechanical, electronic and software aptitude
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to solve problems as they arise.
- Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, and time awareness and be able to work with limited direction under a department manager.
- Be able to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, attention to detail, and time management.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in industrial maintenance preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years’ hands-on experience in equipment maintenance in a mail sorting, or production environment preferred
- Required to stand for long periods of time, bend, reach and move about the facility
- Required to grip twist and turn both hands for long periods of time
- Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to noise, moving mechanical parts, dust, and variable temperatures.
