Wedlake is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor with a strong fabrication background to lead daily shop operations and ensure safety, quality, and production goals are met.
The ideal candidate has experience supervising teams in a fabrication or heavy manufacturing environment and a solid understanding of welding, fit-up, blueprint reading, and production workflows. This hands-on leadership role requires a strong shop floor presence, workforce accountability, and a commitment to meeting schedules and customer requirements.
What You'll Do- Lead second shift operations to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and delivery objectives.
- Supervise, coach, and develop fabrication and welding teams supporting manufacturing operations.
- Hold employees accountable for performance, attendance, safety, quality, and productivity expectations.
- Monitor workflow and address staffing, equipment, material, and production issues to maintain production schedules.
- Coordinate with Planning, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Operations to remove obstacles and keep production on track.
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Maintain a visible presence on the production floor and provide hands-on leadership throughout the shift.
- Utilize production metrics and department performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and drive results.
- Support a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment.
- Experience leading production teams in a fabrication environment.
- Strong understanding of welding, fitting, and metal fabrication processes.
- Knowledge of MIG and Flux-Core welding processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
- Proven ability to achieve production goals while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Experience managing employee performance, attendance, accountability, and corrective action.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and production reporting systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supervising welders, fitters, and fabrication personnel.
- Experience in tank fabrication, pressure vessel manufacturing, structural steel, or similar heavy manufacturing environments.
