Job Description

Sr Consumer Communications Specialist is primarily responsible for planning employee communications and managing communication channels for the Consumer Banking division of BOK Financial. This includes the development of communication messages that will be used for internal audiences that align with, support and enhance the goals and objectives of BOK Financial and the Consumer Banking division; sources and creates content that will be distributed to Consumer division employees in a variety of channels including the division's weekly employee newsletters, company wide intranet site, and other channels as designed.

Works closely with middle management in the Consumer division in the development and management of communication content. Works with various Consumer Banking stakeholders to support ongoing projects, initiatives and special events. Provides support in managing numerous company and department systems such as the intranet-based employee newsletter and other platforms.

You'll Spend Your Time
  • You will manage and deliver employee communications through newsletters, announcements, and weekly reminders.
  • You will build relationships with stakeholders to support division communication goals and priorities.
  • You will develop and execute communication strategies that promote key initiatives across the Consumer division.
  • You will create and adapt content for newsletters, intranet articles, and other internal channels.
  • You will maintain organized systems for archiving and managing employee communications.
  • You will identify story opportunities and recommend effective channels and timing for communications.
Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, or Communications emphasis and 3+ years previous experience in public relations, marketing or communications and community relations; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Consumer banking experience preferred.

  • Excellent writing skills, with demonstrated ability to research stories, develop narrative, and produce finished product.
  • Knowledge of AP-style copywriting and editing
  • Strong ability to communicate complicated concepts and technical data in simple terms
  • Strong organization and planning skills
  • Strong knowledge of Communications, Journalism and Public Relations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Excellent PC and software application skills (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Familiarity with supporting software applications (Photoshop, InDesign, Front Page)
  • Comfort level with business and financial concepts
