Housing Solutions Tulsa is hiring a full-time Housing Unit Acquisition Specialist to expand access to fair-market housing for people exiting homelessness. This role exists to secure available units quickly by building and maintaining strong relationships with private property managers. Key responsibilities include identifying and engaging property management partners; maintaining a pipeline of affordable units (especially efficiencies and one-bedrooms); completing leasing and rental-assistance paperwork and coordinating with Finance for accurate Forward payment entries;
tracking unit availability, inspections, and documentation in the unit tracker and HMIS; and coordinating with Outreach and partner case managers to meet weekly acquisition targets. Required qualifications/skills:
- GED or high school diploma
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written communication skills
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; commutable to Tulsa
- Preferred: bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; knowledge of HUD/ESG/ARPA programs; familiarity with Tulsa's homeless system and A Way Home for Tulsa (AWH4T) If you're ready to do practical nonprofit work that connects leasing and rental solutions to real outcomes, apply now.
You'll spend much of your day out in Tulsa connecting with property managers, following up on leads, and keeping conversations moving toward open doors. Between site visits, you'll return to the office to update the rental pipeline, confirm timelines, and keep details clean and current so partners can act fast. Expect steady communication with Outreach and case management partners to align on near-term needs and timing.
You'll also carve out time for inspections and occasional move-in support so units are ready when clients are. Daily briefings keep priorities clear and help the team stay on pace across the nonprofit housing and leasing work.
