Position: VOLUNTEER & COMMUNITY OUTREACH LIAISON

Our Blood Institute is actively looking for a Volunteer & Community Outreach Liaison
. This position is responsible for recruiting, developing, training, and supporting volunteers and community advocates who advance Our Blood Institute's mission through community outreach, donor recruitment support, public education, and blood drive engagement.

This position serves as a bridge between Volunteer Services, Donor Recruitment, and community partners by developing a network of volunteers, ambassadors, and blood drive champions who expand OBI's presence throughout the communities it serves. Through relationship development, public engagement, volunteer leadership, and educational programming, this role strengthens community awareness of blood donation and empowers volunteers and community partners to actively support OBI's mission.

Location: Tulsa, OK

Pay: Competitive pay to include shift differential and holiday pay and is based on education and/or experience and $500 bonus after 6 months and $1,000 bonus after 1 year!

Days: Monday through Friday

Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (may vary)

Qualifications:
  • College degree required or experience equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience required, blood banking knowledge preferred.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to provide MVR with zero points and no moving/traffic violations in the past 3 years
  • Ability to work with people of all ages.
  • Strong social media skills on a variety of platforms, including creating and editing content and overseeing volunteers who also use social media skills for blood donation promotion.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Skills in organizational and project development.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Candidate will assist in leading Volunteer development, public speaking & facilitation, training & education, strategic networking, program development and mission advocacy.
Primary Responsibilities:

Volunteer Recruitment & Development
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and retain volunteers who support OBI's mission.
  • Identify volunteer interests, strengths, and leadership potential.
  • Develop meaningful volunteer opportunities that align with organizational needs.
  • Create pathways for volunteers to grow into leadership, ambassador, and advocacy roles.
  • Coordinate volunteer recognition and engagement initiatives that promote long-term retention.
Community Ambassador Development
  • Develop and maintain a network of trained community ambassadors who represent OBI throughout the community.
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteers who participate in educational presentations, community events, outreach opportunities, and mission advocacy initiatives.
  • Equip volunteers with the knowledge, tools, and resources needed to confidently share OBI's mission and impact.
  • Develop ambassador toolkits, training materials, and presentation resources.
Community Outreach & Representation
  • Represent OBI at community events, health fairs, networking events, schools, civic organizations, and outreach opportunities.
  • Conduct presentations and educational programs that increase awareness of blood donation and OBI's mission.
  • Identify opportunities to expand OBI's visibility and engagement throughout the community.
  • Serve as a liaison between OBI and community organizations, educational institutions, and local stakeholders.
