Grant Specialist

The Grant Specialist for the Tulsa County District Attorney's Office is responsible for managing and overseeing grants throughout the full grant lifecycle, from opportunity identification and application development through award administration, implementation, monitoring, reporting, and closeout. This position researches and develops grant opportunities, prepares and submits applications, and administers grant awards and contracts to ensure compliance with applicable funding requirements, organizational policies, and project objectives.

The Grant Specialist maintains regular communication with grant-funded staff, subrecipients of Tulsa County District Attorney's Office (TCDA) funding, organizations providing subgrants or funding to TCDA, community partners, and other project stakeholders. Responsibilities include monitoring progress toward grant goals and objectives, collecting and maintaining written documentation of project activities and outcomes, identifying and addressing implementation issues, coordinating stakeholder communication, and organizing and facilitating stakeholder meetings.

This position is responsible for maintaining comprehensive electronic and hard-copy grant files; developing and submitting required financial and programmatic reports; monitoring grant budgets, deliverables, and performance; coordinating grant-related activities across departments and partner organizations; and ensuring that grant requirements are met through the closeout of each award. The Grant Specialist also conducts ongoing research to identify new funding opportunities and works with internal staff and external partners to develop competitive grant proposals that support the mission and priorities of TCDA.

The position requires exceptional organizational, written communication, research, and project management skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple grants, deadlines, partners, and competing priorities. We are looking for candidates with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, sound judgment, and an interest in public service who will uphold the highest ethical standards.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to prepare professional-quality grant applications, programmatic and financial reports, correspondence, project documentation, meeting materials, policies, and other written materials.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple grants, projects, deadlines, reporting requirements, budgets, and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to manage and oversee grants throughout the full grant lifecycle, including grant research and development, application, award, implementation, monitoring, reporting, modification, renewal, and closeout.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with grant-funded staff, attorneys and legal staff, governmental agencies, nonprofit organizations, subrecipients, subgrantors, community partners, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to regularly communicate with grant-funded personnel and partner organizations to monitor progress toward grant goals and objectives, obtain and document project updates, identify challenges or compliance concerns, and ensure required activities and deliverables are completed.
  • Ability to organize, coordinate, and facilitate stakeholder and project meetings, including developing agendas, communicating with participants, documenting discussions and decisions, and following up on action items.
  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn and apply, governmental budgeting and generally accepted accounting principles and procedures, grant budgeting, financial management, and grant expenditure requirements.
