Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an RN for a night shift Med/Surg Observation Unit position requiring an active OK or compact RN license and AHA BLS certification.
Responsibilities- Work in a 30-bed observation and medical-surgical unit with telemetry capability
- Care for a diverse patient population of all ages
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:5-6
- Supported by patient care techs and a unit secretary
- Utilization of virtual sitter monitoring and monitor techs for telemetry patients
- Level I trauma center environment
- 12-hour night shifts from 18:30 to 07:00
- Responsibilities include direct patient care, monitoring and communicating patient condition, and coordinating care among disciplines
- Supports patient discharge planning as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Must demonstrate critical thinking skills and work effectively under stress
- Personal protective equipment must be used according to standard precautions
- First time travelers will be considered
- Local candidates are accepted at a reduced rate according to the facility's radius rule
- Active OK or compact RN license required
- AHA BLS certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience
- Primary source license verification and Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
- Must provide US Social Security Number and a US home address
- Must submit two professional references and a copy of driver's license for consideration
