Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a General Surgical Floor position serving an adult population with telemetry capability and night shift requirements.

Responsibilities

• Position is on the 10 East General Surgical Floor in a hospital setting

• Provides care for adult surgical patients with telemetry monitoring capability

• Nurse to patient ratio is typically 1:5-6

• Supported by patient care technicians and a healthcare unit coordinator

• Monitor technicians and virtual sitter monitoring are available

• Night shift schedule from 18:30 to 07:00

• Responsible for implementing and monitoring patient care plans in accordance with hospital protocols

• Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for coordinated patient care

• Must carry out physician and nursing orders and coordinate discharge planning

• Requires strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently in a high-stress environment

• Personal protective equipment must be worn as required following standard precautions

• Local candidates are accepted at a reduced pay rate due to a facility radius rule

• Holiday coverage and weekend shifts may be required based on unit need

• All travel positions require submission of two references and a copy of driver’s license for consideration

• COVID vaccination is not currently required

Requirements

• Active OK or Compact RN license required

• BLS certification through the American Heart Association required

• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a similar setting

• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start

• Primary source license verification required within 30 days prior to start

• Must provide a US Social Security Number and US home address
