JOB SUMMARY:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct nursing services to individuals receiving crisis stabilization and urgent recovery services within a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). Services are delivered to individuals experiencing acute mental health crises and/or co-occurring substance use disorders. The LPN practices in compliance with the Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act and Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN) rules, functioning under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Independent Practitioner.
POSITION SPECIFIC
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide direct nursing care within the scope of practice for a Licensed Practical Nurse.
* Support crisis stabilization services through trauma informed, recovery oriented nursing interventions within established clinical records
* Monitor patient condition, medication response, and behavioral presentation, and promptly report significant findings or changes to the supervising RN or provider.
* Administer medications and perform nursing interventions only in accordance with provider orders, RN delegation, and organizational policy.
* Accurately documenting nursing care, medication administration, and patient observations in the electronic health record consistent with Oklahoma Board of Nursing standards and agency requirements.
* Collaborate with Registered Nurses, prescribers, and interdisciplinary treatment team members to carry out delegated components of the plan of care and support continuity of services.
* Provide basic health and medication education to individuals served within LPN scope of practice and as directed by supervising clinical staff.
* Provide nursing support related to facility-specific nursing processes and followup coordination, as delegated, by assisting the supervising RN or licensed practitioner.
* Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and compliant clinical environment in accordance with regulatory standards, facility policies, and infection control practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
* Must be a high school graduate or have HS equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
* Previous experience working with clients with mental illnesses and/or substance abuse is preferred

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
* Knowledge of Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act and OBN rules governing LPN scope of practice and supervision.
* Knowledge of psychiatric medications, side‑effect monitoring, and substance use considerations relevant to crisis populations.
* Skill in applying nursing care techniques in high‑acuity behavioral health environments.
* Ability to prioritize tasks, follow oral and written instructions, and exercise sound judgment under stress.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish therapeutic relationships.
* Emotional regulation, patience, and professionalism when working with individuals in crisis.
* Ability to lift, assist, and/or maneuver up to 50 pounds, walk for extended periods (up to 12 hours per shift) and perform required physical duties, including bending, standing, walking, and repetitive motion throughout the shift in support of direct client care and emergency response.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
* Requires completion of LPN Program and active license as an LPN in the State of Oklahoma.

SAFETY SENSITIVE JOB CLASSIFICATION:
This job is classified as a "safety-sensitive" position as defined by the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act. Due to the "safety-sensitive" classification, an employee in this position would be subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Availability to work nontraditional hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts, as required for a 24/7 Crisis Care Center.
