Job Description
Role:
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse)
- Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history, physical exam, blood testing, and reviewing serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions as per standard operating procedures and coordinate medical emergencies, including referring to the Center Physician and following standing orders.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or for medical/technical guidance.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation, following occupational health or emergency room guidance and EHS policy.
- Serve as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to local pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate‑equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned (LPN or LVN).
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- State‑required basic IV therapy qualification.
- Successful completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- At least two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Compensation & Benefits- Hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44 (varies with qualifications, experience, and location).
