We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Wound Care Nurse to join our dedicated team at Emerald Care Center Tulsa. The Wound Care Nurse will play a critical role in assessing, planning, and implementing comprehensive wound care for our residents. This role requires a deep understanding of wound care management, excellent clinical skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities- Assessment and Planning:
Conduct thorough assessments of residents’ wounds, including the evaluation of wound type, stage, and underlying conditions. Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and best practices. - Wound Treatment:
Administer wound care treatments, including dressing changes, debridement, and application of topical agents. Ensure proper techniques and infection control practices are followed. - Collaboration:
Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and develop treatment plans. Provide education and guidance to nursing staff on wound care practices and protocols. - Monitoring and Documentation:
Regularly monitor and document the progress of wound healing, changes in condition, and response to treatments. Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records in compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements. - Patient and Family
Education:
Educate residents and their families on wound care procedures, prevention strategies, and the importance of adherence to treatment plans. Address any questions or concerns regarding wound care. - Quality Improvement:
Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to wound care. Review and analyze wound care outcomes to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices. - Emergency Response:
Respond to urgent wound care needs and manage complex wound cases in collaboration with other healthcare team members. - Staffing:
Participate in weekend phone rotation.
- Education:
Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a valid state nursing license. Wound Care Certification (WCC) and Infection Preventionist (IP) certification required. If not currently certified, MUST be willing to obtain certification within thirty (30) days of hire. - Experience:
Minimum of INSERT PREFERENCE HERE year of experience in wound care, preferably in a skilled nursing facility or similar healthcare setting.
