Job Summary:
Registered Nurse for Cath Lab/EP, supporting diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures with an emphasis on safe, efficient patient care. This role coordinates pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure nursing responsibilities while maintaining readiness for call and weekend/holiday coverage.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization and EP-related procedures, including assessment and pre-op education.
- Assist with sterile setup and equipment readiness, ensuring adherence to cath lab safety practices.
- Monitor vital signs, hemodynamics, and patient status during procedures, escalating concerns promptly.
- Provide post-procedure care, including sheath/catheter management support, bleeding surveillance, and recovery monitoring.
- Maintain accurate documentation and facilitate timely communication with the care team and procedural providers.
- Administer and monitor medications per protocol, maintaining appropriate safety checks.
- Hold a valid RN license required at time of submission (compact or corresponding state eligibility).
- Possess current BLS certification.
- Hold current ACLS certification.
- Demonstrate NIH certification/competency as required at time of submission.
- Have at least 1 year of Cath Lab experience; EP experience is a plus.
- Support flexible scheduling needs including call, weekends, holidays, and possible floating within scope.
- Build advanced procedural nursing expertise in Cardiac Cath Lab/EP workflows.
- Strengthen clinical judgment through high-acuity, fast-paced teamwork.
- Develop transferable peri-procedural documentation and safety practices.
